Aim
The aim of the new Centre for Marine and Coastal Policy Research (MarCoPol) is to provide a sound scientific, social, legal and economic basis for improved policy for the management, sustainable use and protection of the marine and coastal environment.
Rationale
MarCoPol brings together academics from the fields of law, business, economics, policy, sociology and ecology making it a truly interdisciplinary research centre. MarCoPol is an important component of the Marine Institute providing the human dimension to the sustainable use and management of the marine and coastal environment.
