Centre for Research in Brain, Cognition and Behaviour

Research in the School of Psychology was rated as 5 in the 2001 RAE, and in the 2008 RAE we submitted 34.5 staff (making us the 12th largest research School of Psychology in the UK), and 85% of our research was rated at international standard.  Our teaching and laboratory facilities were completely refurbished in 2008, in support of our excellence in teaching and research. eye tracking

Research within the school is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, but is organised around three interlocking themes:

  • Brain - internationally excellent research in clinical, cognitive and computational neuroscience, perception, andattention.
  • Cognition - incorporates research recognised as world-leading in RAE 2008, with particular strengths in decision making, reasoning and memory.
  • Behaviour - encompasses much of the applied research activity, incorporating research in health, social and developmental psychology, and human factors.

You can find out more about our research in these three areas by exploring the links on the left. Each theme contains information about people and the projects that they are working on.
