Applying for a postgraduate research degreeConsidering applyingIf you are considering applying for a PhD or an MPhil, please look at information about the research opportunities that we offer described in each subject area. These research opportunities refer to a research group or research centre and other students working on allied research projects. Each group welcomes a dialogue with students before they apply and identifies a contact person would would be keen to discuss any potential application with you. Remember to complete every section of the form and to include the following documents:
Your application form and all documents, including the references, must be in English with any translations certified as true and original. An unconditional offer letter will not be issued until all relevant documentation has been received by the University. ReferencesAlong with your application form you should also submit two statements from your referees about your academic ability and suitability for the programme of study. You need to print off two copies of the reference form and give a copy to each of your referees. When each of your referees has completed the form they should return it to you in an envelope signed across the seal. These must be submitted along with your application form. When to applyApplications can be made throughout the year but there are three normal entry times for research degree students, 1 October, 2 January and 1 April. |
