Shadow Puppet Making Workshop

To celebrate the Chinese New Year Peninsula Arts brings you a fun-filled workshop morning of making traditional Chinese Shadow Puppets, suitable for families with children of all ages.

The workshop will be led by the artist & animator James Jones Morris, a video of his work can be seen here.

The workshop will continue after the screening of Disney's Mulan.

In one of Chinaís most popular legends comes this tale of a brave young woman called Mulan.

The Emperor has ordered one man from every family to join the Imperial Army and defend the country from the terrible Hun leader Shan Yu who has invaded China. Mulan, desperate to please her family decides to defy tradition and take her ageing fatherís place in the army. Disguising herself as a man, Mulan takes her fatherís horse Khan and slips away late in the night to begin her incredible adventure.
