FILM SERIES: Resistance

Over the past couple of years people across the globe have been confronted with great challenges; from crippling austerity measures in many western nations to revolution throughout the Arab world, as well as ongoing concerns of civil liberties in Russia and Palestine.

Together with staff on the Politics International Relations course here at the university this series will explore these events with documentaries featuring people often missing from the spectacle of 24 hour news.

Krisis (2012)
Dir. Nikos Katsaounis, Nina Maria Pashalidou

Krisis explores how Greece and the Greeks are experiencing the crisis, looking into the hearts of the people. It is also an experiment in collective documentary filmmaking, combining different perspectives on Greece, as seen through the lenses of 14 photojournalists. It echoes the voices of people from all walks of life, in an attempt to tell the story of the Greek crisis through the reflections of contributors to a wider multimedia project which can be viewed at:
