The information contained in the Guide is the result of collaboration between the BBC, ITN, the Press Association and Sky News to produce constituency by constituency estimates of the political effects of the work of the Scottish Parliamentary Boundary Commission. It has been compiled by David Denver (Lancaster University) and Colin Rallings and Michael Thrasher (University of Plymouth).
Besides showing the Old and New Constituencies in Scotland, the Guide also contains various tables for Scotland and Great Britain showing: Rank order of seats; Seats for each party in order of % majority; Target lists for the main parties; and Projection of seats in the New House of Commons for a range of shares of the vote.
An added bonus in the Guide are the ‘pen-portraits’ of constituencies provided by Mark Stuart of the University of Nottingham.
