Qualifications & background
I joined the School of Geography at Plymouth in July 2006, having previously taught at Loughborough University, the National University of Singapore and the Universities of Birmingham and Reading.
I hold a PhD in Human Geography from Royal Holloway, University of London and an MPhil in International Studies from the University of Reading.

Teaching interests
Please see research interests. My research and teaching are connected by a commitment to a critical perspective. I teach on a first year course about the geopolitics of 'globalization', second year courses on geographic thought and geographies of development, a third year course on southern Africa and a Masters module on globalization and regionalization.
Research interests
What interests me? As a geographer, almost everything!
However my main foci are:
Political and Development Geography and the History and Philosophy of Geographic Thought.
I am currently an Associate Editor of Political Geography and co-Editor of the Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography.
