UPSU sabbatical elections
15/03/2013
The UPSU Sabbatical Elections are here! Voting is from 08 to 15 March and every student can vote at www.upsu.com. It is crucial that as many students use their voice to elect next year’s student representatives!
USE YOUR VOTE HERE: www.upsu.com UPSU is your Students' Union. Our entire purpose is to make your life as good as it can be whilst at Plymouth and give you the skills to succeed when you leave. We do this in a variety of ways - coordinating societies, sports and volunteering, getting the changes you want from the University and the Government, giving independent advice on anything from housing to debt, and providing you with fantastic social opportunities. Representing Plymouth students is at the core of what we do - put simply, only UPSU can do it. This is because we are completely student led and democratic. Every year Plymouth students vote in their thousands to elect a team of students to represent them for one year. They are supported by a large team of full time staff members but the work is driven by students. These student representatives, or Sabbatical Officers, are responsible for working with the University and local community to improve the student experience. They also become Trustees of the organisation - UPSU is a charity with a £5m turnover, and like other charities we have a Trustee Board which is responsible for all the big strategic decisions. UPSU also operates a Student Parliament. These are volunteers who are responsible for making sure the Sabbatical Officers are doing the best possible job they can be. The positions currently being elected are:
