Some relationships exist to help prospective students make informed choices about studying with us, some exist to mutually benefit our research activities. Others are there to help Plymouth students experience other parts of the world or to help students from other countries spend some time with us at Plymouth on an exchange.

Brazil

Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, Curitiba

This newly formed link, in the field of Architecture, currently revolves around potential for shared research, academic exchange and student exchange.
Universidade Positivo, Curitiba Universidade Positivo currently offers 27 undergraduate programs, a doctoral program, three master’s degree programs, dozens of certificate of graduate study programs and hundreds of extension courses. All this makes Universidade Positivo one of the foremost institutions of higher learning in Brazil. Plymouth University is currently further developing this new relationship with Universidade Positivo, in the areas of undergraduate articulation agreement and with potential for student and staff exchange, across Plymouth Business School and the School of Architecture, Design and the Environment.

China

China Agricultural College (CAU) / International College Beijing (ICB), Beijing, China Articulation agreement with students progressing to Plymouth University for final year of Bachelor degree studies in Business subjects via City College Plymouth. Renmin University Renmin University of China (RUC, also known as the People's University of China) is a key university in China, established in 1937 and given its present name in 1950. The RUC's emphasises humanities and social sciences; however, the university also embraces disciplines in the area of natural sciences. The RUC is a comprehensive research-orientated university with nearly 19,000 full-time students.

Students from the following courses can progress to a range of final year courses at Plymouth University: SQA Higher National Diploma International Finance, SQA Higher National Diploma in Supply Chain management, SQA HND in Business, SQA HND in Business with IT.
Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) Sichuan International Studies University is located in Chongqing, Sichuan and was founded in 1950. With “Unity, Diligence, Rigorous Attitude and Realistic Approach” as its motto, and following the Programme for Educational Reform and Development of China, the university is designed to teach foreign language learners who are to become specialists in such fields as foreign affairs, management, international business, education, research and journalism. It is actively engaged in teaching and scientific activities.

Students with appropriate grades may progress in years 2 and 3 of the following courses.

Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (BUPT) Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) is a research-oriented university with information technology and telecommunications as its main feature. It offers a wide range of subjects including engineering, management, humanities and sciences, and most of its subjects and disciplines are related to applied science and engineering. BUPT enjoys a nationwide reputation for innovation and excellence in advanced research and learning in information and communication technology. It serves as one of the most important teaching and research bases for information technology and telecommunication industry in China.

BUPT is one of the 73 Key National Universities under the leadership of the Ministry of Education of P.R.China. Founded in 1955, BUPT was originally named Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. It was the first institute of higher learning for teaching and research in the fields of posts and telecommunications. In 1993, it was authorized to rename as its present name BUPT.

Students from BTEC HND programmes in the following courses may progress to Year 3 of a range of University of Plymouth degree programmes.

Capital University of Economics and Business. Overseas Chinese College Capital University of Economics and Business, Beijing, China(CUEB) was established in 1956 with the permission of the Ministry of National Education and is now a key university of the Beijing Municipality. The University consists of 14 colleges and departments including business administration, accountancy, finance, banking, law, computing and economics. There are approximately 20,000 students.

Students may progress into Year 2 and Year 3 of a selected range of computing and business courses at Plymouth University.
Hunan University of Commerce Hunan University of commerce (HUC) is a government-sponsored full-time college, and one of the universities and colleges specially supported by the overall economic and social development program of Hunan province. HUC has over 11,000 full and part-time students and currently offers 26 bachelor degree programmes.

Students from 3 year International Programmes may progress to Year 3 of Plymouth University degree programmes in Business Management with Business English, International Trade & Operations Management and International Management.
Zhengzhou Institute of Aeronautical Industry Management (ZZIA) ZZIA is a full-time institute of regular higher education; it was originally affiliated to Aeronautical Industry Company of China. Its predecessor was Financial and Economical School founded in Pingyuan Province in 1949, today it has been developed into an institution of regular higher education with the discipline of management remaining dominant, involving a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, economics, law, science and literature, etc. It is now serving as an important cradle of cultivating compound applied talents for the development of local economy and aeronautical industry of China.

Students will study 2 years at ZZIA on a cooperative programme, the second year will use teaching materials from the first year BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering from Plymouth University. Successful students will continue on the second year of the BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering at Plymouth and have the option to continue to the final year at Plymouth or ZZIA.

University of International Business & Economics (UIBE) Beijing UIBE is one of the most sought after academic institutions in China, a place of study for China's most talented students; its prime aim is to equip students not only with professional competency and superior analytical skills, but also independent thinking, excellent multi-lingual communication skills, and a global outlook and awareness.

Students from the following BTEC HND programmes at UIBE HND Business (Finance), HND in Business (Management), HND in Business (Global Trade), HND in Business (Marketing) HND in Business (Human Resource Management) HND in Business (E-Business Strategies) may progress to a range of final year business courses at Plymouth University.
Guangdong AIB Polytechnic College. (GDAIB) GDAIB is a public full-time higher education institution. The college has 3 campuses and over 10,000 students. GD AIB has been identified by the Ministry of Agriculture as the training centre in South China in training senior administrative personnel for all agricultural industries in China. Annually, there are more than 2,000 learners from more than 20 provinces and autonomous regions.

Ocean University of China, Qingdao Under the direct administration of the State Ministry of Education, Ocean University of China (OUC) is a comprehensive university with its strength in oceanography and fisheries science. OUC offers courses in Science, Engineering, Agronomy (Fisheries), Economics, Liberal Arts, Pharmaceutics, Management, Law, and Education. OUC has been approved as one of the national key universities with “Project 985” and “Project 211”. The motto of OUC is “Ocean Embraces Streams All; Exploring Promises Reaching Far”.

Shandong University Shandong University (SDU) was founded in 1901 in Shandong Province, and is home to 32,000 students. With 100 years of development, SDU has developed into a comprehensive university with courses covering ten fields, namely: literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, medicine, economics, law, management and education. Students who have studied for 2 years at Shandong University, Weihai may progress to a foundation degrees in Accounting and Finance, Business Management and Business Marketing at City College Plymouth. On successful completion, students may join the year three of BA Business Administration, BA International Finance and BA Business Management with Business English at Plymouth University.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong Polytechnic University The Hong Kong Polytechnic was formally established on 1 August 1972. Its mandate was to provide application-oriented education to meet the community’s need for professional manpower resources. The Institution launched its first five degree programmes in 1983, and introduced its first MPhil and PhD programmes in 1986 and 1989 respectively. Students who pass the 3-year Higher Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing may progress to the final year of Plymouth University’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics.
Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education In fulfilling the University of Hong Kong's mission in extending lifelong learning opportunities for the community, HKU SPACE seeks to become a world-class centre of excellence for the provision of professional and continuing education serving Hong Kong, Mainland China and the region. Plymouth University is a franchise partner of HK SPACE for BA (Hons) International Trade and Operations Management and students can study this degree pathway in Hong Kong. A new pathway has recently been agreed for HK SPACE Associate Degree students who wish to pursue the final 2 years of their studies in Environmental Science at Plymouth University.
Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) As a member of the VTC Group, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) is the leading vocational education provider in Hong Kong, committed to nurturing professionals valued by industries. IVE has been evolving in tandem with the economic development of Hong Kong, building a competent and innovative workforce needed in a knowledge economy. AMET University AMET University is India’s first deemed university in maritime education. Located in Chennai, AMET University is a state of the art establishment totally dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge to the Shipping Industry. Students who successfully complete their first year of study on the BBM at AMET can progress to Stage 2 of the BSc (Hons) Cruise Management or BSc (Hons) Maritime Business and Logistics at Plymouth University. Students who successfully complete 2 years of study on the BBM at AMET can progress to the final year of BSc (Hons) Shipping and Logistics or BSc (Hons) International Supply Chain and Shipping Management at Plymouth University.
Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET) Established in 2001, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) is a self financed institute offering high standard quality education to students from all over India, situated in Greater Noida. Students who have successfully completed 2 years of study on the BTech at NIET can progress to Stage 2 of the relevant BEng programme at Plymouth University. Students who have successfully completed the BTech at NIET are able to progress to a relevant Masters programme at Plymouth University.
Acharya’s Global Business School Acharya’s Global Business School (AGBS) is one of 10 Acharya educational institutes in Bangalore, and is affiliated to Bangalore University. Students who complete 2 years of the relevant business programme at AGBS are able to progress to Stage 3 of the BA (Hons) Business Administration at Plymouth University.
Malaysia
Institut Eksekutif (IE) IE Kuching was established in 2004. Since its formation it has strived to provide greater access to quality education through academic programmes offered locally which meet both national and international quality requirements. IE holds full status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. The college offers Diplomas in Business Administration, Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying. Plymouth University is an academic partner of the college and successful IE Diploma students can progress onto Year 2 BEng Civil Engineering.
INTI International University INTI College was established in 1986, upgraded to University College status in 2006 and merged in 2008 with Laureate International Universities. For over two decades INTI has been at the forefront of higher education in Malaysia for foundation, degree and postgraduate programmes and holds full status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. INTI currently has six campuses throughout Malaysia and opened its first international campus in Beijing in 1993. Plymouth is proud of its 25-year association with INTI and has received Higher Diploma graduates onto BEng/BSc degree programmes in Electrical and Electronic, Robotics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
Kolej Laila Taib (KLT) KLT (formerly Kolej Bersatu Sarawak/United College Sarawak) located in Sibu was established in 1998. The college was the first private educational institution in Malaysia to achieve full status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. KLT hopes to achieve University status by 2013. Plymouth has been working with this institution for a number of years and students who complete the Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering may progress to either stage 2 or 3 within these fields of study at Plymouth University.
Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) PSDC has made great strides in the field of education and skills training since its inception in 1989. Throughout its 20 year history, PSDC has always emphasized the importance of quality education and training. PSDC holds full status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. The programmes offered are designed to provide students with a firm foundation in the field of engineering and prepare them for further study to degree level or employment in industry.

Since the introduction of the Diploma in Engineering Programme in 1993, PSDC has produced more than 1,600 graduates in Electrical / Electronics Engineering and Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering. Plymouth has been welcoming students from PSDC for over 20 years and students who pass the Diploma in Engineering may progress onto a range of BEng or BSc degree programmes at Plymouth University.

APTECH APTECH (Worldwide) is a network of computer training colleges offering a variety of certification and diploma programmes in IT. Plymouth University welcomes applications from eligible APTECH ACCP course graduates into final stage of the following Computing Bachelor degrees:

Bridge House College Bridge House College, in Ikoyi, Lagos, prepares students aged between 16 – 20 for the 1-year University Foundation Programme, 2- year A’ level Programme, and the unique 1 + 1 A’ level Programme in partnership with Brooke House College, UK.

Plymouth University welcomes applications from Bridge House College for first stage entry into our undergraduate degree programmes on a case by case basis.

Republic Polytechnic (RP) The Republic Polytechnic was set up on 1 August 2002. It moved to its permanent campus in Woodlands in March 2006 and supports 14,000 students. The first educational institution in Singapore to adopt the Problem-Based Learning approach for all its diploma programmes, Republic Polytechnic (RP) has six schools and one centre offering 38 courses in Engineering, Applied Science, Information and Communications Technology, Technology for the Arts, Sports, Health & Leisure, Hospitality and Culture and Communication, Innovation and Enterprise. Republic Polytechnic is committed to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial learning in an environment that develops problem-solving process skills and a life-long learning attitude. Students who pass the Diploma in Electronic Engineering may progress onto Year 2 BEng/Year 3 BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Robotics.

Singapore Polytechnic Marine Academy Singapore Polytechnic was the first polytechnic in Singapore. Established in 1954, it has provided education and training for about 150,000 skilled personnel to spearhead and man the wide-ranging industries and businesses in Singapore and beyond. Today, its enrolment of 15,000 full-time and part-time students are doing a total of 78 diplomas and post-diplomas in biotechnology, business, computing, design, e-commerce, engineering, information technology, life sciences, optometry, maritime studies, media & communication, multimedia and technology. Plymouth has been working with one of the Polytechnic’s academic schools, the Marine Academy, for many years and students who successfully pass the Diploma in Maritime Business can progress to the final year of Plymouth’s Maritime Business degree programmes.
USA
Carnegie Mellon University The MSc Robotics Technology is a unique two year programme collaboratively delivered by Plymouth University and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, PA. This professional master’s degree programme trains future leaders of robotics and intelligent automation enterprises and agencies, in the principles and practices of robotics, automation science, engineering, software engineering, and management. It aims at training professionals who will be able to lead the development of the robotics industry.
Transart Institute Plymouth University in cooperation with Transart Institute offers an international low-residency two year graduate art program leading to a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Practice. Please submit an admissions enquiry for more information.
International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP) – mainly USA International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP) is a network of HEIs with over 300 members worldwide, that provides student study exchange. Plymouth University has been a member of ISEP since 1984 and eligible students can exchange from virtually any subject area to one of the universities in the USA that are ISEP members.
