OUR ENTERPRISE AIM

Our aim is to become the enterprise university, truly "business-engaging" and delivering outstanding economic, social and cultural benefits from our intellectual capital. Pivotal in a city acknowledged as the enterprise capital of the south west.

This means:
  • Creating a sustainable new model for an enterprise-led university where innovation and creativity, together with responsible business practice, underpin all our activities
  • Building on our demonstrable enterprise track record and our range of services for business, the public sector and community
  • Embedding a spirit of enterprise at the heart of every facet of the University, being attuned to the transformational priorities of the city and the region, meeting the needs of our stakeholders and enhancing our students' experience and employability
  • Intimately connecting our teaching and research with the practicalities of the real world - supporting innovation and enhancing competitiveness in local, regional and global businesses, and bringing research outputs to an international audience
As the enterprise university we will enable:
  • Individuals engaged with the University to develop personal and transferable enterprise qualities including leadership, resourcefulness and persistence
  • Organisations engaged with the University to be more enterprising whether their enterprise is economic, social or cultural

"Our region is a UK leader in innovation and business success. Together, we can ensure we build on this foundation for a great future."

Professor Wendy Purcell, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive
