Disability ASSIST Services (DAS)

Disability ASSIST Services (DAS) offers advice and guidance on disability to current and prospective University of Plymouth students and staff. This includes arranging appropriate provision for disabled students across all sites. We can also help students who think they may have a disability such as dyslexia or dyspraxia.

How we can help you

The word ‘disability’ covers a wide range of conditions including dyslexia, mental health and other medical conditions.  We can offer support at any stage relating to your individual needs from when you apply to when you graduate including:

  • Assessments and advice for students applying for, or with, a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
  • General study support assessments for students not entitled to a DSA
  • Dyslexia assessments
  • Special examination arrangements
  • Advice for students going on placement
  • Study skills support, note taking and non medical helpers
  • Liaison with departments and support services

Appointments are available for any of the above on all campuses (Plymouth, Treliske and Taunton).

If you are a University of Plymouth student and have immediate access or support needs and your DSA application has been held up at the SFE please contact DAS to discuss and arrange support.
