Campus tours
Open days are the best opportunity for you to visit us as you will be able to meet with our subject tutors and students and find out more on the course you are interested in. If you are not able to attend an open day, you can still visit us! A campus tour is a great opportunity to see the University and find out what it's really like to live and study here.
| Please note that the campus tour is a quick tour of the campus and is not a replacement for a full open day. If you have admissions or course content questions we suggest that you contact the relevant faculty and arrange a meeting either before or after the tour - visit faculty contact numbers. |
About campus toursWe offer campus tours on most Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. Starting at 1.30pm from Roland Levinsky Building student gateway - please allow up to two hours.
Campus tours enable you to see all the main facilities on campus (please note that campus tours do not enter any academic buildings). The campus tour will include all of the main areas of the campus, including a visit to the accommodation show flat, the students' union and the Library. It is a great way to see the University, providing you with a taste of what it would be like to study on the campus and to get a feel for student life at Plymouth.
Campus tours are suitable for:
- anyone unable to attend either an open day or course preview day
- year 13 school or college leavers
- UCAS applicants
- ... but everyone is welcome.
Our students are at the heart of the University of Plymouth, and as such are perfect ambassadors for the University and life as a student. One of our select trained students will guide you around the campus, and although we suggest a route; we leave it up to them to tell you the important aspects of life here. Along the way, feel free to ask your tour guide any questions you may have about student life and the University of Plymouth.

Would you prefer a self-guided tour?
If none of the open days or scheduled Wednesday campus tours dates is suitable, you are most welcome to visit the University for a self-guided tour at your convenience.
Should you wish to do so, please stop by any of the following places on campus:
* Hepworth House Main Reception - (map reference 13) * Information Reception, Roland Levinsky Building - (map reference 33)
Staff at these locations will be able to provide you with a self-guided tour booklet with a tour map or you can download and print off a campus tour guide. The University is open Monday to Friday. Whilst you are welcome to visit on a weekend you may be unable to access several areas on these days.
Campus tours frequently asked questions
Quotes from previous attendees:
- "Very helpful and good to see the uni whilst in term time and during the week."
- "Although it was good to see the whole of the campus, perhaps it would have been nice to see a room from each faculty, or even a lecture theatre. The mock student bedroom was a great idea."
- "Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the last open day as it was the same day as one my AS exams. The campus tour gave a good general overview of the University, and will help when I revisit for the open day in October."
- "This was the only opportunity I had of viewing the University due to work and exam commitments and am glad I managed to see it and can't wait to start in September!"
- "Great tour, very welcoming!"
- "I would have preferred the tour to be shorter but the amount of information was extremely helpful and seeing the whole campus with narration from the tour guide gave me a good idea of what I should expect from the University."
